Salvation (10 Essentials to the Christian Life)

Salvation - Deliverance from sin and its consequence.

The Greek word of Salvation or Saved is "Sode'-zo"...It means to deliver; to protect; to make whole; to do well.

1. Meditate on and discuss key words and phrases in the following scriptures.

"And she will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for it is He who will save His people from their sins." Matthew 1:21

"But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12-13

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him." John 3:16-17

"They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household." Acts 16:31

"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ... for whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 5:8; 10:13
