Witness (10 Essentials to the Christian Life)

Witness - One who testifies or the act of testifying regarding that which is known or experienced, especially of the Christian Gospel; one who gives evidence or proof.

1. Meditate on and discuss key words and phrases in the following scriptures:

"And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'" Matthew 28:18-20

"Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you." And he went away and began to proclaim ...what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone marveled." Mark 5:19-20

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth." Acts 1:8

"...They commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, 'Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; for we cannot stop speaking what we have seen and heard.'" Acts 4:18-20

"Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, with gentleness and reverence." 1 Peter 3:15

"You are the salt of the earth; You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden...Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." Matthew 5:13-16

"And He said to them, 'Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.'" Matthew 4:19
