Obedience (10 Essentials to the Christian Life)
Obedience - Doing that which is commanded according to scripture. Submitting to God's will.
The Greek word for Obedience means - to hear under; to heed or conform; to hearken.
1. Meditate on and discuss key words and phrases in the following scriptures:
"And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart;" Deut. 6:5-6
"The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person." Eccles. 12:13
"And why do you call Me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?" Luke 6:46
"He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him." John 14:21
"The one who says, 'I have come to know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;" 1 John 2:4
"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome." 1 John 5:3
