Meditate On This by Tom Roy

Money

I Timothy 6:10: "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. . ."

Im sure you have looked at some of the salaries of professional athletes and said, "Holy cow! These guys are raking it in! What are they going to do with all that money?" Yes, some of these men are really after the money, but many of them are caught in the system. The unions have set it up in such a way that, based on their performance and years in the game, they are going to make a certain salary. The above scripture doesnt say that money is evil, but "the love of money is the root of all evil." Jean Louise Agassiz once refused a large sum of money to lecture, saying, "I have no time to make money. Im searching for Truth!"

Meditate On This!

Is your focus on the provision of God, or are you driven by money? On June 22, 1977, the Milwaukee Journal printed the following: "Money cant bring you friends, but it can bring you a better class of enemies!" The reality is that the love of money grows as the money itself grows. One of the richest men to live, Malcolm Forbes, said, "Anyone who thinks money is everything has never been sick."

It is not wrong to have money, but if your motivation is only for the "almighty dollar", you may not be working for the King of Kings. This God has given you money. He has not given it to you to be the "Dead Sea" and pool it all in one area, but rather to be the "Jordan River" in spreading that wealth to the Kingdom. However, if you are without money, dont worry. God will take care of all your needs.
