Unlimited Potential Inc. had a tremendous impact on the Camp Darby community. They came with humble hearts willing to serve the people. They shared the love of Christ with everyone from the children in the youth baseball camp to the MPs at the gate. These are strong men of character with a strong message to our young soldiers. They don't just talk the talk, they live it. Everywhere they went they had an instant audience. This should be an annual event.

UPI demonstrated its resolve to "serve Christ through baseball" as the gospel of Jesus was proclaimed and shared with the deployed soldiers of Task Force Falcon 2A in Kosovo. The ability of UPI's genuine servants of God to relate and communicate with individuals and groups was awesome. Soldiers were encouraged and challenged with the Love of Jesus. The ministry provided through prayer breakfasts, visits to units on the camps and out in sector, Bible fellowships and a Marriage Maintenance class will have an untold impact on the lives touched by UPI.

The visit from UPI blessed the soldiers of the 1-63 Armor Battalion. From visiting in the staff offices with senior NCOs and Officers to crawling on an Abrams tank in the rain, the player's genuine concern for people came through. Soldiers appreciated their visit; one cited their great thanks for someone caring enough to come out to the range, in the rain, to visit and show appreciation for the American soldier. The players gave a clear witness to the life changing power of Christ in one-on-one encounters and group discussions. Their testimonies in the Brigade Prayer Breakfast and Sunday worship services provided a pointed challenge and opportunity to ensure a right relationship with God through Christ Jesus. UPI has a unique gift of bringing the Gospel through the doorway of sports.

What does UPI mean to me? First, UPI means Relationship. I’ve been acquainted with UPI since 1992, and the men and women who constitute the organization have become near friends. Second, UPI is Humility. It would be easy for professional ballplayers to approach people with the "one-up" mentality, but my experience with UPI players has been the exact opposite. Third, UPI is Integrity. I have personally worked with the men and women of UPI in circumstances where there can be no putting on a front, and they have demonstrated themselves to be people of integrity - what they do is what they say. Fourth UPI is Sharing. Whether baseball knowledge or talent, spiritual insights or personal hardship, UPI players step up to the plate and offer whatever they have.
