All members of the UPI staff have played professional baseball and have been uniquely called by God to devote their lives to ministry in the professional baseball world. We are united in one Spirit with one mission and that is to use the gifts and platform that God has given us to make disciples of Jesus. 

 
 
 
 

Mickey Weston

Mickey leads the team as the Executive Director and has been serving with UPI since 1996. He played 15 years of professional baseball and is currently the chaplain for the Chicago White Sox. With a heart for reaching the nations, Mickey has traveled and worked in partnership with missionaries in over 40 countries around the world.

 
 

Tom Roy

Tom is the President, Founder and patriarch of the UPI family. After playing professional baseball, God gave Tom a specific calling and in 1980 that calling birthed the ministry of UPI. Tom has helped serve missionaries in over 60 different countries around the world and currently serves as a pastor to the staff and as a counselor to ballplayers.

 
 

Brian Hommel

Brian is our Southwest Director and has been serving with UPI since 2001. He played 5 years of professional baseball and is currently the chaplain for the Arizona Diamondbacks. Brian leads a variety of small groups for players and their wives in the Phoenix area throughout the year and has helped serve missionaries in over 20 different countries around the world.

 
 

Tony Graffanino

Tony is our Southwest Associate Director and has been serving with UPI since 2011. He played 19 years of professional baseball with parts of 13 seasons in the Major Leagues with Atlanta, Tampa Bay, Chicago, Kansas City, Boston, Milwaukee, and Cleveland. Tony leads a variety of small groups for players and their wives in the Phoenix area throughout the year and helped serve missionaries in over 8 different countries around the world. He is currently the Spring Training chaplain for the Chicago White Sox as well as the chaplain for their Arizona League affiliate. 

 
 

Terry Evans

Terry is our Southeast Director and has been serving with UPI since 2012. He played 11 seasons of professional baseball and is currently the chaplain for the Atlanta Braves. He leads a variety of small groups in the Atlanta area and leads an annual mission trip to Guatemala. Terry is currently the youngest member of our staff which means he has the added responsibilities of web design, app development, email tech, video production, podcasting and social media relations.

 
 

simon guehring

Simon is our European Associate and has been serving with UPI since 2013. After playing two years of professional baseball in the United States, one year in the Netherlands, and four years in South Africa, he moved back to Germany and has been the German national team captain since 2004. Simon helps coordinate our annual Easterball Camp in Italy as well as our mission trips to Germany and South Africa. In addition to his efforts to make disciples of Jesus in Germany, he also seeks to build upon the relationships that are developed through our trips to Europe.
