Puerto Rico

Staff Leader: Tony Graffanino

Our Puerto Rico trip is a unique trip where we will divide our time there on opposite ends of the island working alongside local pastors and missionaries to help them reach their communities through baseball clinics. We will normally work one clinic per day and then have significant time throughout each day for further hang time and discipleship among those we work with during the clinics. The time spent traveling and working around the island offers an eye-opening perspective into the lives of our brothers and sisters living in the Caribbean. During our free time, we will do some sightseeing through the rainforest, tour the lighthouse in Cabo Rojo, spend time on the beach, and visit various historic sites in Old San Juan.

“I want to thank UPI for giving me the opportunity to go on a mission trip to Puerto Rico. It was an unbelievable experience playing baseball with the kids and sharing the gospel. It was so cool to see the impact we left on these kids and parents when we talked about Jesus and shared our stories. Our daily devotions as a team brought us close to Jesus but also to each other. The bond that grew as the days went by became a brotherhood. And the food in Puerto Rico was jaw-dropping. I’m sure we all gained a couple pounds on this trip. Haha. God is doing great things in Puerto Rico, and I can’t wait for the next opportunity I have to go on a mission trip with UPI.”

“The UPI trip to Puerto Rico this year was awesome. Great turnouts at the clinics, awesome fellowship, wonderful devotional time in the mornings, and what can we say about the food!!! Tony did a great job leading, and Vic is the best host ever. The Lord smiled on this trip and many were added to the Kingdom!”
