Baseball

I was born and raised in Dublin, GA where I graduated from Trinity Christian School in 2000. I went on to attend Middle Georgia College for 2 years before signing with the St. Louis Cardinals. After 5 minor league seasons, I finally made my first big league appearance in 2007 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. I played small parts of 3 Major League seasons with the Angels and 11 full seasons in the minor leagues with St. Louis, Anaheim, San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Kansas City. I spent 6 years in the PCL and can tell you the best breakfast/coffee spot in each one of those cities. After the 2012 season with the Kansas City Royals organization, I retired from the game and came on staff with UPI.

Ministry

During my last season with the Royals and my first year on staff with UPI, I studied at Grace College and Seminary where I received an M.A. in Ministry Studies. I currently oversee all UPI related ministry in the Atlanta area and serve as the chaplain for the Atlanta Braves. Thanks to the support of the team around me, I have had the privilege of leading the development of our app called Grow Together which is a bible teaching resource designed for specific use among small groups of disciples. I have assisted other team members on missions trips to the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Italy and have led our trip to Guatemala for the previous 3 years.

Personal

I currently live in Woodstock, GA where I have been married to my virtuous wife, Tanner, for 9 years (2007). We have our own tribe of four children, Asher (2009), Jude (2011), Isaac (2013) and Arlie Anna (2015), and we are members of Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, GA.
