2025 Episode 20, The Gospel According to Matthew 26-28, Romans 1-2

May 12, 2025    Simon Guehring

In this episode, Simon concludes the Gospel according to Matthew, highlighting the final moments of Jesus' life—His death and resurrection, and as he introduces Paul's letter to the Romans, Simon begins to unpack why these events truly matter.

Simon reflects on Jesus’ decision to obey His Father—and to love, serve, and surrender—even in the face of immense pain and suffering. He then challenges us to examine our own lives, asking how often we try to avoid situations that involve pain or discomfort.

Simon also emphasizes that Jesus’ victory over death and His resurrection were not just to save us, but to transform us—empowering us and sending us, like Paul, to share God’s Good News of love and grace with both the religious and irreligious, inviting them into a life-saving, life-changing relationship with Jesus.

As a companion resource, we’ve included The Bible Project’s overview video of Romans 1-4.
