Don't Be Deceived
In this episode, Brian explores Joshua 9–18 and highlights how easy it is to be deceived and make poor decisions when we fail to inquire of the Lord.
Looking at Israel's encounter with the Gibeonites, Brian examines Joshua's failure to seek God's counsel and how decisions based solely on what we see, think, or feel can lead us astray.
Brian also shares some of his personal prayer practices—how he intentionally quiets his own thoughts, removes distractions and obstacles, seeks God's direction, listens for His leading, and then responds in obedience to what God reveals.
Reflection Questions:
1. When faced with an important decision, do you first inquire of the Lord, or do you make your plans and then ask Him to bless them?
2. Are you intentionally spending time with Jesus so that you can recognize His voice and discern His leading?
3. When you believe God has spoken, do you respond with obedience, even when it's difficult?
We pray this week’s readings, episode, and Digging Deeper questions both challenge and encourage you as you continue to grow in your faith.
