Jesus Our Kinsman-Redeemer

In this week’s episode, Mickey introduces the book of Ruth, highlighting the faithfulness of Ruth and Boaz, who chose to honor God and serve others during the time of the Judges, when "everyone did what was right in their own eyes."

Next, Mickey shows how Boaz provides Scripture’s clearest picture of the kinsman-redeemer, whose sacrificial, life-giving love points us to Jesus, who redeems His people and makes them His bride.

As we begin Matthew, Mickey highlights Jesus’ genealogy, where the inclusion of two Gentile women testifies to God’s plan to redeem all nations. He then turns to the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus teaches what it means to live as citizens of His kingdom.
