Where Is Your Trust

Aug 10, 2026    Ted Barrett

In this episode, Teddy explores Matthew 25–28 and 1 Samuel 1–6, highlighting two very different responses to God. Together, these passages remind us that true victory comes through trusting God, not religious symbols or human effort.

In 1 Samuel, Israel carried the Ark of the Covenant into battle, believing it would guarantee victory. Instead of placing their faith in the Lord, they treated the Ark like a good luck charm, and the result was devastating defeat.

Matthew provides a powerful contrast as Jesus enters His greatest battle by humbly submitting to the Father's will. His death on the cross secured the greatest victory in history, proving that our hope is found in Christ alone.

Digging Deeper Reflection Questions:

Am I trusting in Jesus Himself, or have I begun trusting in religious routines, positions, or symbols more than my relationship with Him?

Where is fear causing me to bury the gifts God has entrusted to me instead of using them faithfully for His glory?

If Jesus asked me today to follow Him wherever He leads, could I sincerely pray, "Not my will, but Yours be done"?

We pray this week’s readings, episode, and Digging Deeper Reflection Questions both challenge and encourage you as you continue to grow in your faith.
